Awarded Leasing For Biomed Research Center At Shady Grove A World Class 525,000sf Life Science Development

Booth, Chairman, announced today that it has been retained by BioMed Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: BMR) as exclusive leasing representative for the proposed development of BioMed Research Center at Shady Grove in Rockville, Maryland. This engagement brings EDGE’S leasing and management portfolio to over 5 million square feet.

BioMed intends to develop BioMed Research Center at Shady Grove on approximately 18 acres in the heart of Montgomery County’s I-270 Technology Corridor, which is immediately adjacent to the BioMed owned corporate headquarters of Human Genome Sciences. BioMed estimates that the project will comprise up to 525,000 square feet of “Class A” laboratory, R&D and office space. BioMed and EDGE are currently working with Montgomery County officials to determine the final site design.
