EDGE Commercial Real Estate Seeks 7 – 13 Acres for Lycée Rochambeau, The French International School, Campus Consolidation

Gaithersburg, Md. – EDGE Commercial Real Estate announces the beginning of a partnership with Lycée Rochambeau, The French International School, to find a new property close to its main campus on Forest Road in Bethesda. This new campus will consolidate its main campus with its two satellite campuses on Bradley Boulevard in Bethesda and in Chevy Chase.

Established in 1955, Lycée Rochambeau was founded to meet the needs of a growing French-speaking international population in the Washington area. Since its beginning, the school has kept pace with that demand and now serves more than 55 nationalities. “The needs of our students and their families have changed and expanded over time.  We feel it is important to our mission for our student body to learn and explore education together,” says Hélène Fabre, Director of Finance and Administration at Lycée Rochambeau. “That can only truly be accomplished in a campus environment housing all of our children, from Pre-K through High School.  We are confident that EDGE Commercial Real Estate has the team, experience and knowledge to help us find the best location for our faculty, students and alumni.”

“Not only are we tasked with finding the perfect location for Lycée Rochambeau, but we also must give consideration to the school’s long history in the Bethesda and Northwest DC areas,” notes Marc Balamaci, EDGE Principal. “EDGE was hand-picked from a sea of applicants primarily for our significant experience in site selection for specialized uses, but also for our personalized approach, our firm’s own local roots, and our extensive network.  These will prove invaluable in achieving all of the school’s goals.” The combined school is expected to occupy approximately 70,000 square feet, with a full-size soccer field, outdoor play areas, garden space, and parking spaces for visitors, staff, and overnight parking for the school’s bus fleet. EDGE Commercial Real Estate’s Marc Balamaci, Joshua Katz and Kelly Crough will represent Lycée Rochambeau in its search.
